After the sad loss of Geoffrey Buckingham-Bawden in August 2023 it has been decided that Taltrees Home Heating Ltd should be taken into Creditors Voluntary Liquidation (CVL).
This is effective as of the 19^th March 2024.

Taltrees Nursery (hence the greenhouses) was established on the Taltrees Centre site by Mr Buckingham Bawden senior in the late 1940’s. He lived at what is now Cat Cottage but was then known as Taltrees, which is on the other side of the junction going east.

The Nursery was a thriving family business and Geoffrey (Mr Buckingham Bawden junior) started work here in his teens.

In the 1960’s and 1970’s Geoffrey started to sell Garden Machinery and offer a repair service from a building at Taltrees Nursery.

In the late 1970’s Mr Wynn Jones, who was a sales rep for Efel Stoves, visited and he suggested that Geoffrey should display and sell the Efel Kamina stove. The Efel Kamina stove began to sell very well and could be found in homes all around the local area.

There has been a long and continual history of stove sales on the site ever since.

Stove technology has come on massively since they were first sold on this site in 1980 and Marches Stoves are now pleased to sell the cleanest and greenest (most efficient) stoves in Britain.
